Instagram: The selected location is outdated, please use search and find a new location

This error means that the location selected for the Instagram post is no longer available. Instagram locations can become outdated if the place was removed, renamed, closed, or replaced by another location.

Postmypost checks whether the selected location is valid before publishing. If Instagram reports that the location is outdated, it can no longer be used for posting.

Possible Causes​

  • The selected place no longer exists.
  • The location was renamed or replaced by another place.
  • The location created on Facebook is no longer available for use on Instagram.

What to do?​

Remove the outdated location from the post and use search to select a current location instead.

If you need the same place, try searching for its updated name or choose another nearby location.
