Why can an image in Telegram be cropped on Android?

Sometimes the same image may look different in Telegram: the preview looks correct on iPhone or in the desktop version, but on Android the image in a channel or group may be cropped at the edges.

If the image opens fully after tapping it, the file was uploaded correctly. Usually this is not related to the publication itself, but to how a specific Telegram app version displays the preview.

Why this happens

Telegram creates the message preview itself. Different apps may scale it differently: the Android client can crop the image around the center so it fits into the post card.

This is not an error in the publishing service: Telegram API does not provide a separate setting that can reliably disable this preview cropping. The service sends the image to Telegram, and how it appears in the feed depends on the Telegram client on the user's device.
