Requirements and limitations

Here are simple rules for successful publications on Telegram.

Regular post​

Photo​

  • Format: JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP
  • Recommended resolution: 1200×1200 px
  • You can publish multiple photos in one post
  • The total size of all files must not exceed 50 MB
  • Photos can be accompanied by text (description)
  • Emoji and line breaks in text are supported

Video​

  • Format: MP4 (H.264 + AAC codec)
  • Maximum file size: up to 50 MB (via the service API)
  • Videos can contain a description (post text)
  • Aspect ratio: any, recommended: 16:9 or 1:1

Stories​

Video​

  • Format: MP4
  • Recommended resolution: 1080×1920 px
  • Vertical 9:16 format for the best display
  • Maximum duration: up to 60 seconds
  • Frame rate: at least 30 fps
  • Maximum audio bitrate: 128 Kbps
  • If necessary, the service automatically reduces the video bitrate to meet the allowed file size

Circled video​

A circled video is a video message (video note), similar to "circles" in Telegram.

  • Format: MP4
  • Video must be square (1:1)
  • Recommended resolution: 320×320 px
  • Maximum length: up to 60 seconds
  • Maximum file size: up to 10 MB
  • Audio is required
  • Text is not added to this post

Important: If the video does not meet the video note format, Telegram will publish it as a regular video.
